Where to stay in Glacier
Glacier is the last real town before the Mt. Baker Highway climbs into the mountains, a scattering of cabins, a general store, and old growth forest along the Nooksack River. Winter brings skiers and riders headed up SR 542 to Mt. Baker Ski Area, and summer brings hikers bound for the trails along the river and up toward Artist Point. It sits about 35 minutes east of Bellingham, with little traffic and cell service that comes and goes, which is part of the appeal. Pack layers and real boots, and let the pace slow down.

“This home has everything you need for a great getaway to the mountains. We loved the hot tub and fenced in back yard for our pups. The dirt roads around the homes and a small wooded path near the neighborhood was great for walks. The drive to baker was easy for a day of skiing. The home had everything we needed and was super clean. Jackie was available and proactive. We really enjoyed our stay!”

“We stay with VRBO or similar very frequently. We have never stayed in a place with more attention to detail. From the thoughtful basket of s’mores for the camp fire to a toothbrush in the draw from my kid who forgot to pack one- it was all there. There were even an assortment of flip flops with wear out to the hot tub. The decorations were perfect. Wonderful walking trails right into the community with no need to drive. And they were so thoughtful for dogs as well- perfect dog bowls, dog bed, fenced yard. The manager was extremely responsive and promised a 5 star experience and totally delivered. I would highly recommend this cabin.”
